Greetings, and Happy Holidays!
While 2020 has certainly been a challenging year for all, we managed to also make it one of the most exciting years for our friends in Uganda. In fact the director of the orphanage we are working to make self-sufficient said “This Covid-19 year is turning out to be our best ever”
The hens have arrived, just in time for Christmas. They are all going to bed on Christmas Eve secure in the knowledge that they are well on their way to becoming self-sufficient. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all those who have contributed to this project so far and helping us getting the first of five chicken houses going. We have already raised almost 25% of the total for the whole project, which means that we are well on our way toward having the funds to build the second chicken house!
Below is a picture of the hens in the new chicken house. You can even see the star of Bethlehem in the background! Okay that’s not really the star of Bethlehem, it’s just a light. In the coming days, I will have more pictures, taken in the daylight to post on Facebook and to send to the sponsors of the project. In January I will have a year-end report on all that has been accomplished in 2020, which I’m quite thrilled with, given the challenges that everybody has faced in 2020. But I wanted to get this post up so that our donors can go to bed tonight knowing that they’ve made a difference (a big one)!
Thank you again, so much, for your support in this work. You make it possible!
